Desha / Drew Cattlemen November Meeting Notes
December 2nd, 2021 by Club OfficerThe Desha/Drew Cattlemen’s Association met for the regular monthly meeting November 18, 2021, at 7PM in the College of Forestry, Agriculture, and Natural Resources building on the UAM campus. President Jason Meier opened the meeting and welcomed the 30 members and guests. Meier asked the blessing for the Thanksgiving dinner of ham, turkey, and dressing provided by the association with the members bringing delicious sides and desserts.
President Meier introduced our speaker for the evening, Dr. James Mitchell, U of A Extension Livestock Economist, who spoke to us about the Market Lookout for 2022. Dr. Mitchell presented a slide show where we could compare present markets with the past and get an Idea of what might happen in the future. He also gives a Market Outlook monthly in the Arkansas Cattle Business magazine.
In the business portion of the meeting, Mr. Meier announced that we need to fill some of our officer positions for next year. It was decided that we will hold our election of officers next month.
Our next meeting will be December 16th at the Forestry, Agriculture, and Natural Resources (FANR) Building on UAM Campus. Members are asked to bring their favorite finger foods.
