“Description of the Shooting”
October 24th, 2014 by iPhoneAt 11:30, a UAMS staff member was called to report the extent of the injuries to the hand, which was then air-lifted to Springfield, Missouri, due to their severity.
A responding EMT took the stand next, recalling that soon after their arrival Rose Hill Cutoff, a vehicle approached, causing the victim to yell, “It’s the dude that shot me!”
The EMTs told the victim to sit in the ambulance, then they quickly pulled away. They soon met Law Enforcement Officers at a nearby country store.
Just before noon, Lt. Tim Nichols was called to the stand. He told that after a short interview, Gibson told him where the 12 gauge pump shotgun was left, just down the road.
Gibson also told Lt. Nichols that a passenger in the Escape had threatened him with a pistol, and that he fired in response.
The shotgun and ammo was then admitted into evidence.
The court took lunch break at 12:20.
