Dermott Bus Wreck Sends 4 to Hospital- Update
December 21st, 2015 by iPhoneAround 2:55, Friday afternoon, authorities received a phone call notifying them of a school bus wreck on Highway 165, north of Dermott.
A large concrete patch, from recent road construction, had been knocked out of its position in the pavement, and was laying in the road.
A driver and 3 students were on a CB King school bus, when the bus struck the concrete chunk, causing the van’s right rear tire to blow out.

Dermott fire department, Chicot County OEM, and Arkansas State Police quickly responded, along with three local ambulance services.
Bystanders and travelers assisted removing the passengers from the overturned bus, while rescue workers arrived.
All 4 occupants of the bus were transported to McGehee Hospital, where they were treated and released.
AHTD workers were on the site, for hours, working to repair the area, and making plans to arrive at a permanent solution.
