Deputy’s Death Trial- State Rests- Defense Asks For Directed Verdict
August 10th, 2018 by iPhoneAt 9am, Friday, the state rested its case against Samuel Vincent for the death of Drew County Deputy Sheriff Timothy Braden, who was chasing Vincent, last August, attempting a traffic stop.
Both vehicles (Dodge Chargers) crashed, killing Deputy Braden. A felony amount of drugs were found at the scene, which Vincent was arrested for.
When the state rested, this morning, the defense asked for a motion of “directed verdict,” which if granted by the judge, would state that the state didn’t provide enough evidence to prove its case.
The motion was denied, and the jury came into the courtroom at 9:35
