Defense Cross-examines DTF Agent on Drugs at Death Scene- ASP Interviews Vincent
August 9th, 2018 by iPhoneAfter the state closed their questioning of the agent, the defense then asked multiple questions about “buying in bulk,” “shopping at Sam’s or Walmart,” usual weed sales containers (film canisters).
The weight of the weed in this arrest caused it to be a felony charge, not a misdemeanor.
Arkansas State Police special agent Bo Norris testified last, Thursday. Norris played a recording of his interview with Vincent, which was recorded around 4:40, that morning.
Topics in that interview included the fact that Vincent had stopped to get gas on EZ Mart on Hyatt St. When Vincent turned onto Barkada Road, he did not know that a police officer was behind him, until he was near the Tanglewood area. He knew that there was a vehicle there, but was not aware that it was law-enforcement, until the deputy activated his blue lights.
One of the final questions asked by attorneys to Norris was what Vincent’s reply had been when asked why he ran from the officer. “He had been smoking weed that day, and was high.”
It was estimated that the defendant had smoked approximately 1g of weed, that day. The bag that was shown to the court, the same bag that was recovered from the crash scene, contained 168g. The bag also contain $4109 in cash.
Court ended the day just before 6 PM. Tomorrow’s session will begin at 9 AM.
