Defense Begins Their Case, with “Impairment Experts”
November 1st, 2018 by iPhoneNext up was a DWI attorney, who was a former police officer. He described Blood Alcohol Count, staying, “Everyone is supposed to be impaired at a 0.08,…..” when the state objected, at the judge’s bench, which was overruled.
He was the ask to explain the conversion of BAC to blood count, to “blood serum.” His explanation described how complicated the conversion process was.
He then was asked how “blood alcohol” registers, and goes up, then down, as it is absorbed. The blood in this case was drawn at 10 am, so no estimate of what it would’ve been at 6 am was allowed.
It seemed that that point the set was trying to make was that Thompson was likely 3 X over the legal limit, at the time of the victim’s deaths.
