Air One Copter Crew, Killed in Crash, Had Served Drew County Many Times
November 21st, 2017 by iPhoneA Pafford Air One medical helicopter crashed early Sunday evening, in an isolated area near De Witt, killing the pilot, Michael Bollen 46 y/o from Hot Springs, AR; flight nurse, Jim Spruiell, 61 y/o from Sulligent, AL; and flight paramedic Trey Auld, 26 y/o from Shreveport, LA.
The crash occurred during a response from the helicopter’s station in Pine Bluff to Helena Regional Medical Center in Helena.
ThevBell 407 GXP medical helicopter is owned, operated and maintained for Pafford Air One by Air Methods Corporation.
The cause of the crash is not known. However, the investigation is in its early stages. The NTSB’s expected arrival at the crash site today.
Dustin Ross, Director for Pafford Air One says, “We are of course all devastated and profoundly saddened by the tragic loss of these valued EMS colleagues and friends.”
The Pafford Air One crew covered a large portion of Arkansas, including Drew County, and have made many emergency transport flights from Drew Memorial to other medical centers in central Arkansas.
