Monticello Man Arrested for Dumas Murder
March 23rd, 2017 by iPhoneA 25 year old McGehee man died, early Sunday morning, as a result of gunshots fired in Dumas.
A 26-year-old Monticello man has been arrested and charged with capital murder and aggravated assault in the case.
Dumas Police were in the area, when they heard multiple gunshots. When officers responded they found Blake White, the victim laying on the side of the street, in the area of Willow, West Jones and Choctaw Streets, which is located around a block and a half from a local club. White had been shot multiple times with a handgun.
White was transported to Delta Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The body has been transferred to the state crime lab, for investigation.
Tuesday afternoon, an arrest warrant was issued for Kelly Coleman, of Monticello, who was taken into custody later that afternoon by Monticello Police.
He is being held without bond in the Dumas City Jail.
