Deadly Shooting at Local Apartments – Updated
October 17th, 2017 by iPhoneAt 2:17 AM Monday morning, a Monticello man lost his life, as a result of gunshots being fired at the Paradise Apartments on HWY 425, south of Monticello.
According to Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober, his department responded, and began the case’s investigation.
According to reports from the scene, a vehicle pulled up to the apartment, and the driver then entered the apartment.
As the driver was later leaving the apartment, a passenger from another vehicle approached the first car aggressively with a handgun.
The first vehicle was attempting to get away, when shots were fired.
It has yet to be confirmed how many shots were fired.
At least two shots were fired at the approaching man from vehicle 2, fatally injuring him.
The injured man was taken to Drew Memorial Hospital by personal vehicle, where treatment was provided, and law enforcement notified.
He died at the hospital at 3:34 am, and has been identified as David Clyborn, age 21.
No other information is available at this time, and the investigation is still ongoing to determine the actual events and possible charges, if any, that will be filed.
