Dead Man’s Curve Closed for Chip Truck Rollover
December 31st, 2013 by iPhoneA loaded eastbound chip-truck reportedly entered Dead Man’s Curve too fast, New Year’s Eve morning at 4:30, overturning in the north ditch.
Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies are working the traffic, assisted by Monticello Police.
The road is closed to allow Reliable Towing to upright the big-rig. The driver did not appear to be seriously injured, and declined medical attention at the scene.

when the wrecked vehicle is out of the way, in the ditch, they could wait until after 8am and in daylight to block a federal highway. people going to work no longer have Bordeux Rd to use as a detour. wouldn’t it be safer for everybody to extract whatever is in the ditch during daylight and not delay folks trying to get to work?
Joe, how many is that for 2013 now? I have to go thru here at least twice a day. since they closed Bordeaux Road we have to go back to Sixteen section and take gravel roads thru the woods or go back to Selma and go over to Hwy 35 or Hwy 138 and come to Monticello. Looks like they would use some of our tax money to correct this problem.
I will be praying for the drives family
