DCSO Drug Bust on Church Parking Lot
August 6th, 2014 by iPhoneOn Tuesday, July 29, Deputy Jeremy Chapman was on patrol when he observed two suspicious vehicles parked at a local church after hours.
The deputy stopped to investigate the suspicious persons. As he approached the vehicles he could smell the odor of marijuana from both vehicles. During the search of the vehicle driven by Eric Booker of Monticello, the deputy located a baggie containing a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana.
During the search of the vehicle driven by Brandon Cox of Monticello, he located multiple pipes used to consume illegal substances, a set of digital scales, a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and a baggie containing a white like substance believed to be meth.
Booker was issued a citation on Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Cox was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (misdemeanor marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (felony) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (felony meth). Cox was taken before Judge Kenny Johnson for his first judicial appearance and has since bonded out of jail.
