DC Burial Association $ Million to be Released Wednesday
July 23rd, 2015 by iPhoneBecause of the revised Arkansas Duneral Directors Association board decision, DCBA’s officers have technically been reinstated, although the association has been dissolved.
DCBA pres. Joseph Caveness told MLive, that checks issued in December will still be honored.
There are over 250 association members who have those checks. Checks that have been lost, will be replaced.
Those funds will be available to the public on Wednesday, due to bookkeeping measures.
Mr. Caveness added, “I’m glad it’s over, and worked out in our favor.” In closing, he commented that he felt burial associations are now legally outdated, because the maximum value of a burial association account is not enough to cover the cost of a funeral.
The DCBA was represented by attorney Jackie Harris, of Pine Bluff.
