Everyone now remember this when each district does something that is unpopular and the general public is screaming for the entire board to be replaced. Every position is up for grabs and only one of ten positions is contested? Every complaint from here on should be met with indignation because of the apparent apathy that exists in Drew County.
I considered running, but felt I have not lived in the community long enough. I am shocked that more did not run. I did try to encourage several to run.
Most likely the Arkansas department of education will come in and dismiss the entire board soon anyway. They did up in Dollarway. Fired the superintendent and the board.
This is what happens when you have an apathetic population. No one runs because nothing is going to change. It has been and will always be the same in Monticello. You rock the boat and you are out. People are leaving this area of the state because they want better for their kids.
