Halley has served as interim vice chancellor for academic affairs since January when Dr. Doss, who previously served in the role, was named chancellor. Chancellor Doss expressed her appreciation of the UAM search committee’s work during extraordinary circumstances presented by the pandemic. “Ms. Halley is recognized as a respected leader with a strong commitment to the success of our university and the students we serve,” said Doss. “She understands and appreciates the mission of UAM and the importance of the institution to the region and the state, and will continue to be a valued team member as we grow an even stronger UAM.”
Halley will serve on the chancellor’s executive council and oversee matters pertaining to academic programs, resource allocation, faculty recruitment and retention, student retention, program assessment, accreditation, library services, and the office of the registrar. Halley is a native of McGehee and now lives with her husband and two sons in Monticello.
“It is a great honor to serve the institution as vice chancellor for academic affairs,” Halley said. “UAM has always strived to meet the needs of students through innovative program development and creative retention initiatives. I look forward to building upon those efforts.”
