County Party Chooses Drew County Democratic Candidate for State Rep. Race

Tuesday night, the Drew County Democratic Party, hard presentations from both LeAnne Burch and Grant Pace, candidates for the state representative seat, which is available due to the recent passing of Sheilla Lampkin. After the presentation and a short question and answer session for each candidate, the 6 party delegates voted.The total was 5–1 in favor of LeAnne Burch. At that point pace withdrew his name from consideration, and congratulated Burch on her campaign. Thursday night, there will be a districtwide Democratic convention held UAM’s Spencer gallery, where the 5 delegates from Ashley county are expected to cast their vote for Candace Jeffress, and the 6 Drew County delegates are expected to cast their vote for Burch. The Democratic state representative candidate, chosen that night, will face off against Republican Jim Hall, on November 8.
