County Kenworth, with New Motor, Burns on HWY 63
July 4th, 2018 by iPhoneAt the last quorum court meeting, Judge Robert Akin told the JP’s that the county’s 2008 Kenworth gravel truck, that recently had a new motor installed (at Kenworth in Little Rock) had burned recently, while heading towards Hermitage to load red gravel to haul back to Drew County.
The driver reported smoke coming into the cab, then flames coming from the floor / firewall area.
An on-Board fire extinguisher put out the flames, but they flared back up, indicating it was likely an electrical fire. The Warren fire department responded.
The insurance company is investigating the case, to determine the exact nature of the fire, which destroyed the vehicle.
