The siren out in Coleman never worked well to begin with, due to placement. The trees around the church always blocked the sound, meaning unless you were right next to the siren, you could barely hear it when you were outside, let alone indoors. It doesn’t surprise me that they’re having to remove the sirens, but it is still disappointing that they didn’t maintain them well. I hope the weather radios aren’t cheap ones, since those tend to fail easily as well.
Weather radio’s are only good as long as you have power and we all know how that goes for our counties around here. If you have good batteries in your radios then maybe you will get good reception if the trees aren’t in the way…our options are very limited here in south Arkansas. Good luck all.
