County Collecter’s Office Working to Accept Credit & Debit Cards
August 23rd, 2012 by Joe BurgessExecutive Collector Tonya Loveless received the Quorum Court’s approval to continue working to accept credit and debit card payments for property taxes.
Loveless has been researching the project, and received the county’s permission to go ahead with install the equipment and convenient service, hopefully by October, due to the upcoming tax deadline.
The collector’s office would be the first county office to accept electronic payments, but uses by other offices could be considered, after the collector’s office system is operational.
The charge for using a credit card will be paid by the customer, not by the county, as is required by law.
