Called Quorum Court Meeting, Tonight for County Collector & Staff Refusing COVID-19 Test, Being Barred from Courthouse
July 6th, 2020 by Joe BurgessMLive has obtained documents confirming that the Drew County collector and her staff are barred from entering the courthouse, after their failure to take part in COVID-19 testing (Monday) following a positive Covid test result, from the extension service area, Friday.
Documents indicate that collector Tonya Loveless and her staff failed to take the county-provided Covid19 test on Monday, stating that a local daycare had refused childcare to her staff members, following the COVID rumor, Friday.
This is a segment of the letter from the County Judge Robert Akin to Loveless, describing the situation with her office being closed, and the effect it’s closure had on county taxpayers.
Any updates will be posted on MonticelloLive.com, on this situation.
