Counterfeit Checks worth $30,000 Passed on Local Industry
February 6th, 2017 by iPhoneAround $30,000 worth of counterfeit checks, appearing to be written by a local industry, were fraudulently cashed in Monticello and Warren, Friday, around “paycheck time”.
The Monticello Police Department, along with the Arkansas State Police, are investigating the case.
It appears that the counterfeit checks were taken to multiple Union Bank branches in Monticello and Warren, before the scheme was noticed.
