Councilman Tiner Allegedly Threw a Chainsaw (not running) at Wife
July 12th, 2024 by Joe BurgessOn July 09, 2024 at approximately 7:18 P.M. MPD was dispatched to Glenwood Drive in reference to a disturbance.
Upon their arrival, they met complainant Mrs. Tiner. She said her husband was outside working with a chainsaw. She went outside to try and get him to let her look at his phone because he had been guarding it all day, She said her husband got upset with her and threw the chain saw on her and then pushed her down.
The officer observed a long red mark down her left arm extending from her shoulder down to her elbow. I also observed a red scrape on her knee cap. another officer identified the suspect as Mark Tiner and stated that he admitted to pushing her down and throwing a chain saw on Mrs. Tiner.
Mark Tiner showed them the chainsaw that he there on her, but stated that it was not turned on at the time. The victim was asked if she wanted an ambulance and she refused.
The officers arrested Mark Tiner charging him with Domestic Violence.
Second officers report –
On July 9th, 2024 at approximately 7:20 pm, I was dispatched to 184 Glenwood Drive in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon my arrival with Officer Justi Carpenter, we noticed Mark Tiner sitting down outside the residence near his carport. I made contact with Tiner while Officer Carpenter made contact with the wife. Tiner stated that he had been using his chainsaw when Mrs. Tiner came outside wanting to see his phone because she believes he was being secretive. Tiner states that they argued and he eventually threw his chainsaw in her direction out of anger. He stated that he then proceeded to take his phone from her and pushed her to the ground. After visiting with Mrs.Tiner, Officer Carpenter proceeded to arrest Mr. Tiner for Domestic Battery 3rd degree.
Third officers report –
On the above date and time, I was dispatched to Glen wood Drive in reference to a disturbance. Upon my arrival, Officer Gulley and Carpenter were already on scene and had both parties separated. Officer Gulley had relayed to me that Mr. Tiner had admitted to throwing a chain saw at his wife and hitting her in the arm. Officer Carpenter also advised me that Ms. Tiner had marks on her arm and knee. Officer Carpenter arrested Mr. Tiner.
