Comparisons to another Fatality Case – 10:30 Update
November 14th, 2013 by iPhoneThe court used the break to discuss Rollins vs Slater, a somewhat similar manslaughter case. That case was decided, then overturned by court of appeals, then reversed again by the State Supreme Court.
That defendant had cocaine in his system, several reckless driving violations, and drove headfirst into victims car without attempting to brake.
When comparing that case to this case, the prosecution answered, “When Childs put an 80,000# vehicle on the road, with the deficiencies that he should’ve known it had; he’s responsible.”
