May 26th, 2022 by Joe Burgess
Monday evening, at approximately 6 pm, after early voting at the courthouse closed, vote totals were accidentally tabulated and posted on the clubroom door, inside of the closed courthouse.
The information was removed at 7:08 AM, Tuesday morning, to end the situation.
The Secretary of State‘s office, who oversees all electoral activities, said that this was a violation, but at this point, no further action needs to be taken.
County Judge Robert Akin described it as “a mistake, made by a recently appointed clerk, who admitted her error and immediately rectified the problem. “
The courthouse was closed, except to exiting and entering employees in between when it was posted, noticed, and removed.
