City Well Work Completed With Over $1.8 Million Saved, Raises Output by 50%
August 16th, 2023 by Joe BurgessAccording to Monticello, Mayor, Jason, Akers, a recent infrastructure project was concluded this week, with the replacement of the pumps and piping at well number four. The well services the Conley, Cooper and Oakland Street residents as well as others and several secondary streets that run off of the Main thoroughfares.
The original cost of the project was projected at $1.94 million.dollars, but in examining the issues present at the well, it was determined that the cost to resolve the problem was actually under $100,000.
The wells project was completed, with the well up and running by Friday afternoon.
Checks on well 4 conducted after the repairs resulted in the following-
Prior to construction:
800 gallons per minute
Post construction tests:
1200 gallons per minute
