City Truck, City Employee, City Sewer Pond
September 13th, 2016 by Joe BurgessAround 1 PM, Sunday afternoon, a city employee was making required checks at the city sewer ponds, located on Old Warren Road.
Sources are unclear as to what caused the vehicle to drive into one of the city sewer treatment ponds, as shown above.
According to reports, as the employee tried to exit the vehicle, he fell into the contaminated mixture of the pond’s contents, reportedly injesting a large amount of it.
The employee was taken to Drew Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
No other information is available at this time.
Since it is a city vehicle, city employee, and city property, the Drew County Sheriff’s office is investigating the situation.
