City Hall Construction Update
January 8th, 2025 by Joe BurgessAccording to Monticello Mayor Jason Akers, City Hall will be receiving a makeover starting this week.
The 90 year old concrete area in front of City Hall has been the scene of many trips and falls during both inclement and dry weather due to the cracks, holes and uneven spots.
The City has removed the old concrete and is working to replace it, while adding new LED lighting and an area to house a granite bench.
The front doors of City Hall are closed, but entry into the building to reach the water office can be made on the East (mural) Side.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as we work to improve City Hall. City Hall belongs to the people of Monticello and its appearance should represent our people well”.
This project is being paid for by private donations and City labor.Qq
