City Gets $150,000 Sidewalk Grant- Video

Tuesday night, the Monticello City Council approved the final acceptance and use of a $150,000 state department of transportation grant for sidewalks.
The city will be required to put $83,600 into the project as match to get the grant.
Of the 3 options, the council decided to build sidewalks on the east side of Highway 425 S., from 278 to Old Warren Road.
The grant will also include crosswalks on 425 N., in front of Walmart.
The engineer for the project will be Tim Lemons, of Cabot, a native of Monticello.
