Cindy Hilburn Named New MES Principal
April 17th, 2013 by Sarah SpencerCindy Hilburn has been selected to serve as the new Elementary School Principal for the Monticello School District.
Ms. Hilburn, who has served 31 years in the field of Elementary Education, is currently the Director of the Pre-School Program for the School District. Ms. Hilburn came to Monticello in 1997 when she was employed as a first grade teacher, a position she held for four years before serving as literacy coach at the elementary school for three years. Ms. Hilburn then was employed by the Southeast Arkansas Education Service Cooperative for four years, where she traveled all over the State as a professional development associate. She has also worked as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher, Kindergarten teacher, third grade teacher, and is currently serving as the Director of the Monticello School District’s Pre-School Program. Ms. Gaynell Jamison will take over as Director of the Pre-School program, as well as serving as the Reading Recovery Director.
