In a joint press release by the Monticello Police Department and 10th District Prosecutors Office, a Pine Bluff man was found guilty last week by a Drew County jury of Manslaughter and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree after being arrested by MPD. (more…)
According to sources, the driver of the PT Cruiser (shown in the background) allegedly pulled out in front of the Dodge Challenger, around 1:30 pm, Friday afternoon, near the EZ Mart intersection of Hyatt and Gaines Street.
The driver of the Challenger was transported to Drew, Memorial Hospital, by SEEMS, and Rods Wrecker towed their vehicle.
The PT cruiser was able to drive away from the crash.
Minutes after 5 PM, Wednesday afternoon, Monticello Fire & Rescue, along with Monticello Police, Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies, SEEMS, MASI, OEM and other agencies responded to a two car collision, at the intersection of Highway 425 S. and Bowser Road. (more…)
Around 5:30, Friday, August 26, there was a three car collision on Highway 425 south, in front of Atwoods.
At 2 PM, Tuesday, Monticello dispatch paged out Drew County Sheriffs Deputies an Arkansas State Trooper and Monticello Fire & Rescue to a crash scene, north of Montongo on Highway 425, for a two car collision, with possible entrapment. (more…)
At 9:30, Saturday evening, Drew County Deputies received a report of a Dodge SUV, traveling north at the 278/277 intersection, near Tillar, crashing into the woods.
Two vehicles, passing by, offered assistance to the driver and notified officers.
Deputies and a local ambulance quickly arrived, but so did an allegedly drunk driver, who crashed into vehicles at the wreck scene. (more…)
At 2:34, Tuesday morning, Monticello Dispatch was notified by ASP Troop F, of a rollover accident at the Drew/Bradley County line, involving a Toyota Tacoma. (more…)
At 2:13 PM on May 24, Monticello Fire & Rescue, MASI, OEM, and Sheriff’s deputies responded to the report of a Dodge Ram, eastbound on Bill Henry Road, leaving the road, jumping over a driveway side road, and crashing over and into a pile of logs, with the driver trapped inside of the vehicle. After the driver was out of the vehicle, he was placed in the ambulance for transportation.

Around 5:35, this morning, Monticello Fire & Rescue, Drew County Sheriffs Deputies and OEM were paged out to a life-threatening crash involving a Honda sedan trapped under a log truck, near Dead Man’s Curve on Highway 278 East. (more…)
At 8 AM, Thursday morning, an empty log truck was pulling up to Highway 278 East, from Winchester Road, at the Corner Express convenient store.
The trailer‘s king-pin came loose from the truck, causing it to block the roadway, until the trailer could be lifted and reattached.
MPD assisted with traffic control.
At 2 PM, Monday, in addition to the other “same time“ wrecks worked by Monticello Police, there was a third involving a delivery van and a personal vehicle, behind AutoZone on Highway 425 South.
No ambulances or wreckers were needed.
Yes, there were actually three wrecks at the same time in Monticello, Monday at 2 PM.
According to Arkansas State Police, around 2:20 PM, Wednesday, a Monticello woman lost her life in a car crash on HWY 278 Bypass, near the Highway 35 intersection. (more…)

This vehicle was traveling east towards McGehee, when it lost control on a patch of ice, and went into the southbound ditch of Highway 278.
No one was injured; Drew County Sheriffs Deputies responded,.
Please drive safely, this is the first of what will likely be dozens of ditched vehicles (and wrecker bills), today!
