At 4 PM, Sunday afternoon, there was a two car crash at the city limits on Highway 278 W., in Monticello.

Drew County deputies, MPD, and MASI responded.

Vehicles involved included in F350, trailer, and side-by-side, and a Toyota.

Reggies and Rangel removed tthe vehicles.

If you must drive, please drive slow and safely.

As the weather quickly deteriorates, there are least nine wrecks currently being worked by law enforcement in Drew County.

Please stay home, if possible, and if you must get out, drive with extreme caution.

Please remember to take proper precautions with your pets, pipes, and plants.

Extra bedding will help the critters stay a little bit warmer. Pipe insulation is also suggested……

During Friday mornings, power outage, approximately an hour before opening time, Brian Smith, owner of the Prescription Pad Pharmacy on Highway 425 south, is shown firing up generators so that he can operate his computers to take care of his customers medication needs.

Locally owned businesses, taking care of local residents. That’s what makes Monticello, Monticello.

Early morning, thunderstorms across Drew County, which are likely to continue throughout the morning, along with a recently issued tornado watch until 11 AM, have left trees down, blocking several roads, including Highway 35 near Collins, Rock Springs, Plantersville, and  Hwy 172, among others.

At approximately 1:50 PM, Tuesday afternoon, Monticello dispatch received reports of a tree falling on a car on N. Borchardt St.

No injuries were reported.

At approximately 1:45 PM, Tuesday, reports included multiple powerlines in different parts of town being down, causing outages.
