The University of Arkansas at Monticello named 163 students to the Chancellor’s List for the 2018 spring semester and another 302 students to the Dean’s List, according to Carol Dolberry, registrar.
Selection to the Chancellor’s List requires a grade point average of 4.0 on at least 12 semester hours of course credit at the 1000-4000 level. The Dean’s List requires a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, also on at least 12 semester hours of course credit at the 1000-4000 level.
Registration for Kids’ University, a summer enrichment program at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, is now open through June 21, according to Rebecca Newton, program director.
Kids’ University, which will be held July 9-12, is open to children entering the first through sixth grades next fall. Registration may be completed online at http://www.uamont.edu/pages/resources/kids-university/. Registration must be completed by 5 p.m. June 21. Tuition is $100 and includes a t-shirt and all supplies. Space in the program will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jeff Weaver, vice president for external affairs at National Park College in Hot Springs, has been named vice chancellor for advancement at his alma mater, the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Weaver will lead university initiatives in fund-raising, governmental relations, alumni relations and technology. (more…)

Stephanie Harton (right), director of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello was honored recently at the ASBTDC’s statewide meeting in Little Rock.
Harton was recognized as a member of the $3 Million Club, based on the dollar value of loans and other forms of capital funding that she helped small business clients attain in the 2017 calendar year. At left is ASBTDC State Director Laura Fine.
The University of Arkansas at Monticello will begin summer hours with a four-day work week beginning Monday, May 14.
Offices will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All offices will be closed on Fridays. Summer classes will follow the Monday through Thursday schedule. The summer hours were adopted as a cost-saving measure to reduce utility usage.
