According to AshleyCountyLedger.com, a Monticello woman is facing shoplifting charges involving recent thefts at the Crossett Dollar General store and at Atwoods.
According to Lt. Jason Akers of the 10th Drug Task Force,Barry Sipes, age 46, and Steven Scogins, age 44, were recently arrested by Drug Task Force Agents after agents witnessed what they believed to be a methamphetamine sale in the parking lot of a local business.

A 49-year-old Drew County man was awoken by Sheriff Mark Gober and a deputy, around 9 AM, Friday morning. as he was being handcuffed for allegedly shooting two vehicles and two victims, in Winchester, Thursday. (more…)
Monticello Police have confirmed the arrest of a Lake Village man, with family ties to Monticello, on the charges of breaking or entering vehicles, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, theft of property over $1000, possession of meth or cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to Sheriff Mark Gober, Saturday, October 15, the Drew County Sheriffs Office, along with the two local ambulance services were dispatched to a deer camp located on Rash Crossing in reference to a man being shot.
Monday night, at approximately 11:30 pm. Drew County 911 Dispatcher received a call from an unknown male subject stating that he had placed a bomb in a local industry, and was planning to blow the facility up. The suspect further stated “You better come save them,” and hung up the phone.

Hall, a candidate for state representative district 9, covering Drew and Ashley counties, lost his State Appeals Court case, in an attempt to overturn his 2013 conviction, for harassment and/or harassing communications.
