Law Enforcement SWAT snipers from surrounding counties and states recently came to Drew County to attend the advanced Sniper Operations Course conducted by the Drew County Sheriff Office, The Monticello Police Department. Sunday afternoon, around 3 PM, a 33-year-old man reportedly was caught shoplifting in a Monticello store.

When he ran from the store, he jumped into a silver Chevy Suburban, stealing it, and speeding towards Star City, at speeds upto and over 100 mph . (more…)

A 42-year-old registered sex offender from Tennessee, currently living in the Crossett area, was arrested in Monticello, last week on charges of stalking and harassment.

After being released on bond, he was arrested last night, by the Ashley County sheriffs department, on felony charges.
