The City of Monticello is currently taking applications for a full-time and part-time Public Works Laborers. Applicants must possess the ability to work independently, be trainable, have good listening skills, knowledge of public works and have a minimum of a high school diploma. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check and drug screen.

Several people have seen on Facebook that there has been a boil order issued for Monticello.

That is true, but it was issued for Monticello Louisiana, not Monticello Arkansas.

A water main burst at City Hall.

Please be careful when traveling close to the City Square, along Gaines Street.

City Water will be turned off for an undetermined amount of time.

There will be a water outage, this morning, to allow city workers to repair a water main.

The affected area will be on W. Gaines St., from Hyatt St. to Highway 425.

At this time, there is no estimated time for the repair.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

The City is currently experiencing issues with both of the dumpster garbage trucks.

We are working on getting both of the trucks fixed but we are unsure if the problem will be resolved, later today.

We appreciate your patience during this process while we manually use trucks, trailers and man power to empty dumpsters.
