We have confirmed that boil orders for Monticello, Selma, Enon, & Lacey-Ladelle have been lifted by the Arkansas Department of Health, this morning. (more…)
Last week’s boil orders for southeast Monticello and other communities in Drew County, supplied by the Monticello water department, are still in effect.
The precautionary boil order was issued because of low pressure in the system, as a safety measure, and multiple “good reports“ have been returned from state agencies.
Operators are still waiting on final clearance from Little Rock to resume normal operation, and canceled the boil order.
The City of Monticello is currently taking applications for a Part-Time Advertising & Promotion Administrative Assistant to work in City Hall. This individual will be the sole contact between the public, City Hall and the Advertising & Promotion Commission. (more…)
Update: our water situation is still fluid, no pun intended. The huge leaks we thought we had may not have been huge leaks after all. A couple of smaller leaks have been identified and turned off (not affecting customers) and our levels in our tanks are rising appropriately. (more…)
At 10:15, Saturday morning, MLive received a phone call from a non-city source, very familiar with local water resources, reporting that the City of Monticello is currently searching for a major water leak, that is causing water resources to be seriously depleted. (more…)
At the January meeting of the Monticello Parks Commission, Logan Hancock of EFS Geotechnical presented a suggested mapping location of the city’s proposed disc golf course.
The proposed course would be built at the Harris Road end of Lake Monticello, near where the restrooms are located, after the area is cleared.
The overall image of the lake shows the location where the course could be built. The other image shows the possible disc golf holes, that were presented.
The city of Monticello has restarted their
“leaf and limb pick-up”.
Please call City Hall at 367-4400, ext. 1, for the water department, to put your address on the list.
However, if you prefer to burn your leaves, please remember there is now a burning ordinance in Monticello. Call the fire department at 367-5433 to get your burning permit.
