Several people are on the park, including food trucks, and crews are setting up the fireworks.
MLive had not heard of any rescheduling from city staff, so that means fireworks are set to begin after the National Snthem at 8:30.

This morning‘s thunderstorm may have moved out of the area, to some extent, but it left trees down all across Drew County, blocking roads. Drew County sheriffs deputies are responding to reports of trees down, like this one is totally Blocking Pumpkin Center, Road, southwest of Monticello. State, county, and city workers are responding to all reports, doing what they can to clear the roadways, or at least marked them with cones, due to flooding
It also left several roads underwater, with levels rising. Hwy 278, near Dead Man’s Curve, McCloy St. and Gaines St. are underwater, as well as many other areas, such as the Creekwood area, shown in this photo.
