How to operate a home-based business and how to boost sales are the topics of a pair of free seminars to be hosted by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
The first seminar, “Operating a Home-Based Business,” will be held November 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Star City Civic Center. The second seminar, “Boost Your Sales,” will be held December 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the House Room of the John F. Gibson University Center on the UAM campus.

Wednesday, the first responders of Monticello enjoyed lunch courtesy of Chris Bryant State Farm.
Chris and his team served chicken quarters, potato salad, coleslaw, and dessert for lunch. Chris enjoyed being able to serve those who serve our community.

Local residents have reported an ongoing telephone scam that involves Caller ID “spoofing.”
This practice is a form of telemarketing that impersonates a local phone number that does not reflect the original caller location.
In this instance, Drew Memorial Health System administration has been made aware of calls to local numbers which show up on Caller ID as being from “Drew Memorial Hospital,” despite the fact that the hospital has no affiliation with the actual entity placing the call.
