Drew County Farm Bureau Board Member Al Beaty (center) received recognition at the 84th Arkansas Farm Bureau annual convention on Nov. 28 in Hot Springs for the county’s work in the previous year.

Presenting the award were Randy Veach (right) and Rich Hillman, president and vice president of Arkansas Farm Bureau. Each county Farm Bureau is measured in 10 program areas and awarded Gold Stars for exemplary effort in each. Drew County earned 10 Gold Stars. (more…)

The U.S. Postal service is closing suspending mail delivery this Wednesday as part of the federal government’s observance of the national day of mourning in honor of former President George H.W. Bush, who died Nov. 30.

City hall, the courthouse, state offices and banks will be open.

Elite Business Solutions Network will be open during the Christmas Parade, Tonight, for a meet and greet. The parking lot will be reserved for guests to enjoy the parade, no parking will be available for the parade.

Last week, Jay Jones, at the Edward Jones investments office, located  at 975 Highway North, Welcomed area residents and community leaders to attend the ribbon-cutting and open house, at his new office.

Refreshments were served.

In a joint effort to increase educational tools, advanced skills and procedures, and  self-help tools for small and established businesses in Southeast Arkansas; Kay McKeown Brown (BKB Associates) and Chad McGriff Advanced Consulting (CMAC) have signed a five year  multi-faceted partnership agreement to promote, build, and encourage business in this corner of Arkansas flourish and give back to the community.

Jorge Rosas and his staff have a beautiful restaurant, located next to Domino’s Pizza on Highway 425 South.

The food, the fixtures and the atmosphere are all impressive.

This past Saturday SeaArk Boats hosted a back to school pool party for the kids of Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home of Monticello. SeaArk donated food, school supplies and refurbished canoes for the center. (more…)

David and Marilyn Patrick, owners of Patrick’s Spee-D-Lube, announced the ground breaking of Patrick’s Auto Wash on August 16th. The Auto Wash will be located at 125 Westgate Drive behind Patrick’s Spee-D-Lube.
Employees will guide automobiles on to a 90 foot conveyor system where the auto will be prepped, washed and dried. It will be equipped with state of the art brushing equipment by MacNeil Car Wash Systems and will include Pre-Soak, Soft-Touch Wash, High Pressure Side Blaster, Tire / Wheel Scrubbers and Lava Wax with Carnuba. The Tire Shine will be applied along with Simoniz Double Bond Protectant and 175 MPH Dryers.
The tunnel will accommodate 80 cars per hour allowing 3 cars in the tunnel at any given time therefore the complete wash, wax & dry time will be around 3 minutes.
FREE vacuum stations will be available after automobiles exit the tunnel. The Auto Wash will ALWAYS have employees on site to assist customers with any needs they may have. (more…)

The project should be complete, later this month.

No changes in customer service are expected.
