Much more rain is coming over the next 7 days… Some of this rain will be heavy with several inches of rain possible across eastern Arkansas.

This could prolong or worsen river levels, possibly causing local flooding.

At a recent quorum court budget committee meeting, Sheriff Tommy Sturgeon told the group that the state bid choice for the sheriffs department trucks that they had discussed, had been removed from the list, and were no longer available. (more…)

 

 

 

From the Hamburg school district

At a recent Quorum court budget committee meeting, Mayor Dane Weindorf presented a letter of agreement signed by Mayor Gordon Hennington and Sheriff James Robinson from 2004, where an agreement was put into place in reference to the city paying for one county radio dispatcher. Several questions were asked by the budget committee about the legalities and intent of this letter, as well as the length a contract can extend, in this instance.

Everyone agreed to do further research and bring it up at the next convenient meeting time.
