Car Crash Leaves Power Lines on Big Rig
April 11th, 2017 by iPhoneHWY 278 was closed to traffic, following a 10 am wreck, Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred when a Mazda, traveling towards Monticello, lost control in a wet curve, left the roadway and splintered a power line pole.
The powerlines fell across and aneast bound lowboy equipment hauler, becoming tangled in its roof-top horns, and remaining across the truck, until first responders arrived and cleared the scene.
Live power lines also came in contact with a westbound passenger van, but it broke clear of them, before coming to a stop.
The Drew County Sheriff’s Department in Arkansas State Police responded, closing the road.
MASI transported the driver of the Mazda to Drew Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
