Calhoun Selected to National Board
July 18th, 2013 by SubmittedThe Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL) is pleased to announce that Judy Calhoun, Director for the Southeast Arkansas Regional Library has been elected to its board.
ARSL is a national organization of over 700 people whose mission is to provide a network of people and materials to support rural and small library staff, volunteers and trustees to integrate the library thoroughly with the life and work of the community it serves.
ARSL works to provide continuing education opportunities for its members, serves as a source of current information about trends, issues and strategies for rural and small libraries, partners with other library and non-library organizations serving rural and small communities, and advocates for rural and small libraries at the local, state and national levels.
Judy Calhoun will be welcomed to the board at ARSL’s annual conference in Omaha Nebraska in September. Ms Calhoun will also be a presenter at this year’s conference, presenting a session entitled “The Power of One” designed for the solo librarian.
