Burning leaves. Some folks hate it; many folks do it.
This photo shows one of the larger “leaf piles” that we’ve seen in a while, on Oakland St.
If you burn leaves, please monitor the fire, and keep a water hose close at hand.

Mulching is better for the environment & easier on your back.
I wish there was a burn ban in city limits like they have in Little Rock! I prefer to breathe nice clean air. The leaf burning in this town is ridiculous. It’s EVERY day!
Car exhaust doesn’t smell any better. Should they ban those too?
for those of us with serious sinus conditions the burning is most uncomfortable.
A burn ban on leaves should be put in place for the city. Most fires are placed in the ditchs making it hard to drive. The smell and lingering smoke needs to go. Most people are tired of smelling smoke in their homes.JUST SAYIN……………
i have to close all doors garage and smoke still gets inside we mulch our leaves with mower all the people with alergys suffer why cant the law be enforced to ban burning pine has ban also most of all it is dangerous thats pine bluff if they can do it so can we
Why make such a large pile, smaller piles will burn quicker. This monstrosity will burn for a month. That’s a long time to have to breath & smell burning leaves.
It’s one reason I am glad I no longer live in Monticello. I love the people, but the burning makes me not like being there.
