Burn Ban Update
October 10th, 2017 by iPhoneAlthough there is a burn ban for Lincoln County, there is no burn ban for Drew County, at this time.
MLive spoke to County Judge Robert Akin, Monday. He commented, with the rain yesterday, and more rain forecast this week, that he does not currently plan to issue a burn ban.
Judge Akin added, “with our primary industry being timber and related businesses, the detrimental effect of the burn ban could be very costly.” He went on to state that while thetimber industry may burn debris, regularly, they always do it in a professional, supervised manner.
As always, any input from the Arkansas Forestry Commission to the judge will be considered in future decisions about the need for a burn ban.
