Burn Ban Issued after 55 Acre Woods Fire

Early Saturday afternoon, County Judge Robert Akin issued a burn ban for Drew County, shortly after a woods fire burned approximately 55 acres of timberland, located west of the Old Warren Road/S. Wilmar Rd. intersection.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission, Valley, Greenhill, Wilmar, and Bradley Rural Fire Repartments responded.
The Monticello Fire Department filled the Forestry Commission planes, at the Monticello Airport, as shown in the photo above.
