Burgess Enters City Council Race for Ward 2, Position 1
February 27th, 2012 by Joe BurgessJoe Burgess has announced his intentions to seek the office of Alderman for the City of Monticello. Burgess plans to file today for the Ward 2, Position 1 seat.
Burgess, a life-long resident of South Arkansas, and a 20 year resident of the Monticello area, is owner and operator of MonticelloLive.com, which was honored as the 2011 MEDC / Chamber of Commerce “Business of the Year.”
Burgess has served as Marion Township Constable for 2 terms, and also has served civil process for the 10th and 11th judicial district court systems for over 10 years.
Joe is Worship Leader at Northside Baptist Church, Monticello, and has served in the field of church music for 25 years.
Burgess spent 20 years working in area industries, before MonticelloLive became his primary business interest in 2007.
“Due to my experience with news coverage, I am very familiar with the operations of the City Council, and the issues that face Monticello, as a city, and as it’s citizens,” said Burgess. “I’m entering this race, asking for your vote and support, as we, the City and Citizens of Monticello, keep moving forward.”
