Burch Announces Re-Election Campaign
January 31st, 2018 by iPhoneState Representative LeAnne Burch, D-Monticello, today announced her intention to seek re-election to the Arkansas General Assembly representing the people of Arkansas House District 9.
“It has been an incredible honor serving the people of District 9,” said Burch. “I have enjoyed each and every opportunity to work with the people of our district to address the challenges facing our communities and our state, and I look forward to continuing that service in the future.”
As a first time lawmaker, Burch has been an advocate for improving local infrastructure, increasing opportunities for economic development, and protecting families through her service on several legislative committees, including Aging, Children and Youth; Legislative and Military Affairs; Public Transportation; and Joint Performance Review. She has also been recognized for her work by the Arkansas Judicial Council which presented her with their “1st Branch” Award for outstanding improvement to the administration of justice in Arkansas.
State Rep. Burch won a special election in 2016 to fill the vacancy left by the passing of state Rep. Sheilla Lampkin.
“If re-elected, fighting for our local economy, protecting access to health care, and improving educational opportunities for our kids will remain my top priorities,” said Burch. “I am committed to serving our community and making it an even better place to live, work, and grow.”
