Buisson To Be Honored By Little Rock Touchdown Club
December 20th, 2010 by UAM NewsThe Little Rock Touchdown Club has selected senior quarterback Scott Buisson as the most valuable player for the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Along with MVPs from all other football playing institutions in Arkansas, Buisson will be honored at the club’s seventh annual awards banquet on Thursday, January 27 at 7 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Little Rock.
This marks the third time Buisson has been chosen by the LRTDC. The Metairie, La. native was the team’s MVP in 2007 and 2008.
Buisson just completed his final season as UAM’s starting quarterback after a record-setting career. He will leave UAM holding 17 school records, two Gulf South Conference records and one state of Arkansas record.
This season, Buisson became UAM’s all-time leader in passing in the season-opening loss to West Alabama, and he became the state of Arkansas’ all-time leader in total offense in the September 25 loss to Arkansas Tech.
He finishes his career with 12,514 yards of total offense and 9,718 passing yards. In 2010, Buisson had 2,065 passing yards and 467 rushing yards for a total of 2,532, despite missing two games due to injury.
Other collegiate players earning MVP honors include Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, Arkansas Baptist quarterback Duane Watts, Arkansas State quarterback Ryan Aplin, UAPB running back Raymond Webber, Ouachita Baptist quarterback Eli Cranor, Henderson State quarterback Nick Hardesty, Harding defensive end Jermaine Blanchard, Arkansas Tech linebacker Danny Martin, Central Arkansas defensive end Markell Carter and Southern Arkansas wide receiver Rafael Thomas.
In addition to team MVP honors at the collegiate level, the LRTDC will also honor the player and coach of the year for each high school classification.
