Bordeaux Road to be Closed Permanently (to Through Traffic), Due to I-69 Construction, Today – UPDATE
September 9th, 2013 by Joe BurgessAccording to Judge Robert Akin, Bordeaux Road, which runs between HWYs 278 and 35, approximately 2 miles east of Monticello (Dead Man’s Curve area) will be permanently closed, today, by the Arkansas Highway Dept., due to the construction of the I-69 bypass.
An interstate crossing will be built across the “straightest paved road in Drew County,” which will put a stop to “through traffic.”
However, both ends of the road will remain in use for residents to get to their homes and property.

What are they going to do with Midway Route? Will they build an at-grade intersection? Or will they construct an overpass? Is this going to be built as a two-lane road at first and then widened? Or will it be built as a four-lane road from the beginning?
When the bypass is fully controlled access there will be a overpass for Midway. Midway route will be realigned with a intersection. The bypass will have the through traffic which means Midway will have a stop sign when the bypass is open. The bypass will be 2 lane until the 4 lane interstate is constructed
