Billies Head Football Coach Resigns, New Coach Named

The Monticello School Board accepted the resignation of the head coach of the Monticello Billies football team, at a special called board meeting Wednesday night. The board also selected his replacement, at the meeting.
Head coach Greg Tiner told MLive that he has accepted an assistant coaching position in Springdale.
Tiner has been in the Billies football program for 20 years, serving as head coach for the past four years.
Billies assistant coach Marty Davis was approved by the school board to become the new Billies head football coach.
Coach Davis served as a Billies assistant coach for 16 years, before coaching at Watson Chapel and Hamburg. Davis returned to Monticello three years ago, as an assistant coach to Tiner.
These changes will take effect of July 1.
