Local Man Dies, Following Recent Scooter / Car Collision
November 30th, 2021 by Joe BurgessBritt Eubank, A 66-year-old Monticello man, best known from his employment at Burlington, as well as friendly conversations while shopping at local retailers, passed away, Monday, following a motor vehicle accident, that occurred on November 19.
Reports document that around 5:45 PM, November 19, Eubank was westbound on Highway 278 at Jenkins Quick Check. He was stopped, waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, before turning into the store. His motorcycle/scooter was rear-ended by Volkswagen Jetta, causing him to be thrown backwards onto the car, then the ground.
The first caller reported that the bike’s operator was pinned under the automobile, causing Monticello Fire & Rescue to be paged out. However they were soon notified that was not the case.
MPD, ASP & MFD responded. SEEMS transferred the injured man to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, for medical treatment.
Britt Eubank died Monday morning.
At 5:45, Friday evening, Monticello dispatch was notified of a car/motorcycle collision, near Jenkins Quick Stop on Highway 278 E.
